To find recognition in an image, a toy or a character in a book. Or seeing a person that resembles one’s uncle, cousin or nursery teacher. Far too many children in Sweden are growing up with toys, gamse and books that ignore what their families and today’s society looks like. Unless you have traditionally Western European features it is difficult to find any recognition in the products available for children. This results in that already at the beginning of life our children are being informed that their looks are considered to be outside of the norm and they are marginalised, already from nursery school age.
